Security is important in air travel. Knowing what’s allowed and what’s not allowed before you arrive at the airport could save you, and other passengers, time and inconvenience.

Drinks
Drinks in cans, bottles, plastic containers and cartons are allowed to be carried in your hand luggage, provided that any of the containers does not exceed the 100ml. In any case, these containers need to be carried in a transparent and re-sealable bag. Drinks can still be purchased after security control or on board the aircraft.

Food
You can carry fruit, vegetables and all solid foods in your hand baggage. However, foods in sauces or with a high liquid content also need to be sealed in a transparent bag, and should not exceed 100ml in volume.

Baby products and Medicinals
Essentially it is advisable to carry on board what you might really need for the duration of the flight. Items such as medicinals or special dietary formulas, wet wipes and powdered baby food can be carried with you. However, you might be requested to taste the following:

  • Baby milk
  • Sterilised water
  • Baby juice
  • Baby food in liquid, gel or paste form

Should you pass through security with push-chairs or prams you will need to lift your child out during X-ray checks.

Electrical items
Please remove laptops from your luggage to be screened separately. Digital cameras and mobile phones are allowed in your hand baggage or jacket to be X-rayed.

Cosmetics and toiletries
Solid deodorants, lipsticks, brushes, combs and toothbrushes are allowed to be taken on board. One or two pairs of disposable contact lenses (in sealed packaging) are also allowed, as are non-disposable lenses with a small amount of solution as well as disposable razors and razor cartridges are allowed in hand baggage.
The following products are limited to 100ml, and must also go in a transparent bag, along with drinks and liquid-based foods:

  • Hairspray and other aerosol items
  • Creams
  • Roll-on deodorants
  • Sun-tanning products
  • Lip gloss or lip balms
  • Liquid soap
  • Toothpaste
  • Mascara
  • Contact lens solution

It is strongly advised that items referred to in this page should be placed in the hold luggage in order to avoid problems and inconveniences at the Security Screening Point.

Smoking materials
Cigarettes and other tobacco products are all allowed in hand baggage but matches and lighters are not allowed in the hand or checked in baggage. You may carry on your person a single lighter or a box of safety matches on board the aircraft. Smoking is not permitted inside the terminal building.

Writing materials
You may also carry ball point pens, rollerball pens, gel pens and pencils, as well as fountain pens with a single (open) cartridge in use. However, any refills cannot exceed 100ml.

Prohibited Aticles
The list of articles not permitted into security restricted areas and on board an aircraft can be viewed/printed.
