Malta International Airport plc have introduced an enhanced service for disabled persons and persons with reduced mobility (PRMs) which will ensure a seamless passage through the airport terminal to the aircraft and similarly on return, as detailed by the EU Regulation (EC) 1107/2006 of the European Parliament and the European Council.

Pre-booking

Pre booking the PRM assistance will facilitate provision of service.

All persons with reduced mobility -whether caused by disability, age or any other factor - are encouraged to advise their airline or tour operator prior to travelling about their specific requirements both for departures and arrivals.

PRM Service Call-Points

PRMs departing from MIA, may utilise any one of the two Call-Points situated in the Main Car-Park entrance, or outside the Check-in Departures Hall to call for service. MIA Customer Service centre will confirm their location, and advise the PRM service provider to meet them and assist as required.

Another two PRM Service call-points are situated inside the Arrivals Schengen and non-Schengen areas, for the benefit of incoming passengers requiring some form of assistance.

Priority Seating at the Check-in Hall, in all Departure Gates and in the Arrivals Schengen and Non-Schengen Area

PRM Waiting Area opposite Gate 10, Departures

Low telephone Areas in all areas of the air terminal

Lifts and escaltors to reach all floors of the air terminal

Dedicated washrooms in all areas of the air terminal

Dedicated car park spaces in the Main Car Park.
