For most airlines, the maximum weight of checked-in luggage allowed per person is of 20 kilogrammes for economy-class passengers and 30 kilogrammes for business-class travellers. Baggage allowance for some airlines is less and therefore it is advisable to consult the airline or travel agent before arriving at the airport.
Charges for overweight may vary, depending on the airline and final destination. In either case, even if overwieght is paid, the maximum permitted weight per passenger is of 32 kilogrammes.
Each passenger is also allowed to carry one piece of hand luggage measuring not more than 56 cm x 45 cm x 25 cm and of a maximum weight of five kilogrammes. Even in this instance, some airlines adopt different policies and it is advisable to contact the airline beforehand.
