I'd like to thank your special assistance team - particularly Francesca (I hope that's the right lady/name!) For making our passage through Malta airport on our return to the UK today the most stress free ever! It was the best we've ever experienced and meant Charlie our Autistic son and Chloe our daughter who struggles with anxiety were as calm and relaxed as possible before our flight, which in turn meant we as parents were too.
I feel our escort went above and beyond to explain each step of the process to us adults and also made a real connection with the children and put them at ease and explained on their level too.
Having use of the lounge was a really lovely 'perk' if you will, was totally unexpected and made a lovely chilled end to our holiday in your beautiful country.
We will definitely be recommending and look forward to returning in the future.
Lovely structure. I would like to thank the airport staff and especially Cedric C. from the security for their service, having rushed to assist us and allowing us to board the plane even though we were late. Efficient, kind and forthcoming!
Would like to publicly express my thanks and gratitude for the professional and smart approach shown to me by one of the airport customer support representatives (her name tag on her uniform read Johanna Galea)...
Thanks to you got to my flight in time...Keep up your lovely smile too :)
We have travelled from Malta International Airport today with our 8 year old autistic son and we have been amazed at how easy our transition has been. The airport staff have been amazing and so helpful I cannot praise them highly enough. Thank you so much.
A big thank you to Jackie and all the staff who made our lives so much easier earlier today by providing us with special assistance from check in to boarding 😊 The journey facilitation service definitely made it easier for us to start our holiday on a good note!
What bad joke. At Malta airport. Walked in. saw these ads. look like airport departure boards. showing CANCELLED DELAYED. These words should never be advertised at an airport. It’s a bad joke. I was rushing and almost had a panic attack please remove such advertising
Please can you extend our sincerest thanks to the Lost Luggage Team. On Friday (28/11) my husband and I (arriving from Alicante via Barcelona) experienced a very professional team, especially the mature woman who it seemed was ‘in training’ and dealt with our issue quietly and confidently, ably assisted by a young man wearing glasses, with a great smile. Our luggage arrived this Sunday evening, again a courteous and professional courier. Thank you everyone. We hope you will have some time with your families and friends over the holiday season. Thank you once again and Happy New Year.
The airport itself is a nice little airport however the lady in WHSmiths through departures (I believe her name is Sonia) is one of the rudest people I have ever come into contact with! No customer service skills whatsoever, she either needs lessons on customer service or to just not work with the public.
Thank you Jackie from airport assist. You made our experience more pleasant especially for our son. Thank you MIA for this great initiative. All airports should be ASD friendly as this will help passengers with ASD to travel in a calmer environment.
Extremely great service as we booked special assistance for our autistic son on our recent trip to Malta. We received fantastic service arriving and departing that was better than any other airport that we have travelled through before. Makes us want to visit Malta again soon. The service that we received at Malta International Airport puts all other airports to shame. You should really be pleased as your airport provides fantastic service. :)
Your special assistance department is phenomenal. We arranged for special assistance for our 8 year old who has autism, ADHD, anxiety, and sensory processing disorder. As you can imagine travelling with a child with special needs can be stressful and the airport environment overwhelming. However your special assistance made it a breeze. We travelled from LGW and upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly representative with a signboard. She introduced herself to our son, gave him a wristband and talked us through the whole process as she walked us through the airport bypassing all queues. She even walked us to the car in the car park helping us with our luggage! Departing Malta, we had a similar experience with helpful staff members. It was also a seamless process. As we were boarding, someone from the special assistance department even phoned me on my mobile to find out if we were happy with the assistance we were receiving and if we needed anything else. We’ve used special assistance numerous times and this was by far the best experience. Other airports should take lessons from you.
My family and I would like to say a HUGE thank you to Malta International Airport and Jackie from Airport Assistance.
Traveling with a child on the ASD spectrum, ADHD, tic syndrome etc is the most stressful thing. The build up to it ( which started 2 days ago), the flight itself !! the journey through the airport !!!! But today Jackie (and the staff we met through the airport) have made it the most stress free experience we could have possibly hoped for!!
After asking at the airport desk if they did anything like Manchester airport to help children with ASD, Jackie came down and introduced herself to our son then asked him if he would like a cap or a wrist band. She then explained to him what would be happening next.
Amazingly we bypassed ALL and I mean ALL the queues and ended up in a very quiet and calm VIP lounge.
My son is sooo calm and relaxed now it’s amazing, we have been told we will be first on the plane, again bypassing the stressful queues which all trigger his episodes.
I believe this is a new initiative at Malta Airport, thank you so much for your help today it really has made the world of difference to our son and our family.
Other airports could learn a lot from you!
Thank you again!!
I found the staff to be friendly, first airport that I’ve seen the staff smiling, even at passport control. The information desk very helpful. The staff at the security check area very pleasant while doing a professional job.
Tout à fait correct, question restauration pas de problèmes et beaucoup de choix. En ce qui concerne l'infrastructure par contre, au vu du nombre grandissant de touristes, il serait bon de prévoir une extension dans un avenir à court terme.
In all the years I have travelled back an forth to malta visiting family. seeing the airport improve step by step I have never had any problems....check in quick efficient....staff lovely, friendly, polite....lovely an clean airport......was there this August for 10 days same as always no problems from start to finish.....well done Malta Airport....
Have visited Malta Airport several times over 25 years and it has certainly improved. Cleanliness should be a priority of course & serving staff should remember that they are often a first impression for many international visitors. Maltese people are beautifully friendly, let it show. Efficiency has improved & I still enjoy stepping off the plane onto the Tarmac in Malta. Keep up the planned improvements!
Never had any issues with our airline and airport. Thumbs up for the effort in having our airport bigger. All i wish is that we have more direct flights in europe. Ex for Portugal , balkan countries etc. Thanks
Bellissimo aeroporto, non manca niente, anche dopo aver fatto il controllo di sicurezza è possibile uscire fuori per fumare una sigaretta in un area adibita apposta, cosa che in altri aeroporti non si vede
It was great really quick to drop off hold luggage, no queues which was nice. Good choice of shops. Nice touch was the Malta Shop. Normal airport prices. What was really nice was the piano that was left outside Costa which anyone could play and they did! Our flight was delayed so any entertainment helped passed the time.
Plenty of seating, quick to check passports and polite staff. All equalled a painless flight home.
The airport is excellent and changed over the 30 years I have been traveling to/from.
BUT the handling agent for Thomas Cooks - MASERVE
And a lady called RITA (check-in lady) is the RUDEST PERSON in Malta.
I have complained about her to TC
Check in quick efficient friendly in and through to lounge in 15 mins. Clean tidy, having some work but but well hidden and ate breakfast there as we were early. Restaurants great price and good quality. Well presented airport.
First visit to Malta last Tuesday slight delay at baggage area on arrival but fine through customs leaving was a different matter customs was slow, lack of seats upstairs even at 05_30am very pricey in the stores compared to local shops.
We had our boarding tickets already printed so no problems with queuing. Security checks very smooth and hassle free. A very clean airport with plenty of shops gate information very clear. So yes a very positive experience.
