Catch the Drop

Sustainable water use is key in Malta, where natural resources are limited and reverse-osmosis systems supply the rest. In 2015, the Malta Airport Foundation teamed up with HSBC to extend the bank’s ‘Catch the Drop’ campaign to tourists and other passengers at the airport. Malta actually loses water to millions of tourists, who generally consume double the amount that locals do. The campaign was brought to the Maltese airport in order to raise awareness among travellers and locals alike about the need to curb wasteful habits. A variety of initiatives—like children’s colouring books, t-shirts, and baseball caps— promote responsible water use in Malta.
