Requirements for Entry into Estonia from Malta

Testing and Quarantine

Malta is currently included in Estonia’s Yellow List of countries. Holders of an EUDCC will be allowed to enter Estonia without being subject to further restrictions (testing or quarantine), if their certificate contains one of the following:

  • Certificate of vaccination, valid 1 year from the administration of the second dose of the vaccine (or unique dose, for single-dose vaccines).
  • Certificate of recovery from COVID-19, which is valid for 180 days.

Travellers who are not in possession of a vaccination or recovery certificate must present a negative certificate of a PCR test taken up to 72 hours prior to entering Estonia. If a negative test certificate is not presented upon arrival, the PCR test must be performed after entering the country. Until the result of the test is known, the person will be required to self-isolate.

Children up to the age of 12 years do not have to self-isolate or take a test. Children between the ages of 12 and 18 years who have not been vaccinated do not have to self-isolate if they are arriving from Malta, provided that they take a coronavirus PCR-test up to 72 hours before entering Estonia or a rapid SARS-CoV-2 antigen test up to 48 hours before or have taken the test immediately after arriving in Estonia and can provide a certificate of a negative result.

Forms and Declarations

All passengers arriving in Estonia by plane must fill in the traveller’s questionnaire prior to their arrival in the country. The form may be completed up to three days before arriving in Estonia. The form must also be completed for children by their parents or legal guardians.
