Requirements for Entry into Hungary from Malta


Travel between Malta and Hungary is currently banned, except for Hungarian nationals and residents.


If you are a Hungarian resident or citizen returning to Hungary from Malta, you must observe a 10-day quarantine period.



If you present a negative PCR test result upon your arrival and undergo another PCR test at least 48 hours later, you will be not be required to observe the full 10 days of quarantine.

Requirements for Entry into Malta from Hungary



Hungary is one of the countries currently listed on Malta’s Amber List. This means that if you are arriving in Malta from Hungary, you will need to present a negative result of a Covid-19 PCR test, taken up to 72 hours prior to boarding your flight, upon your arrival at our airport.

Passengers in possession of a valid Maltese vaccine certificate can present this in lieu of the negative test result.



If you do not present a negative test result or a valid Maltese vaccine certificate, you will be required to undergo a swab test at Malta International Airport and may also be asked to observe a period of self-quarantine. More information is available here.
