Requirements for Entry into Portugal from Malta

 

Testing 

If you are travelling from Malta to Portugal, you are required to present a negative result of a PCR test taken not more than 72 hours prior to your time of departure or an antigen test taken not more than 24 hours prior to departure, and may be subject to airport screening upon arrival. Children under the age of 2 years are exempt from this requirement.

 

Quarantine

You do not need to self-quarantine when travelling to Portugal from Malta.

Requirements for Entry into Malta from Portugal

 

Testing

Portugal is one of the countries currently listed on Malta’s Amber List. This means that if you are arriving in Malta from Portugal, you will need to present a negative result of a Covid-19 PCR test, taken up to 72 hours prior to boarding your flight, upon your arrival at our airport.

Passengers in possession of a valid Maltese vaccine certificate can present this in lieu of the negative test result.

 

Quarantine

If you do not present a negative test result or a valid Maltese vaccine certificate, you will be required to undergo a swab test at Malta International Airport and may also be asked to observe a period of self-quarantine. More information is available here.
